Welcome to St Leonards. We're in the heart of the home of golf, set in safe seclusion within ancient abbey walls and in the vibrant university town of St Andrews. St Leonards has been at the forefront of education in Scotland and the United Kingdom since its foundation in 1877. Our school attracts teachers of the highest calibre and prepares for life boys and girls from the ages of 5 to 18, imbuing them with a love of learning. Pupils participate in a wide range of activities, from drama, dance and music to golf, fencing and rugby. St Leonards takes pride in its heritage as the first UK school to play lacrosse and we also provide the highest standards of pastoral care, both boarding and day. We're proud that our Sixth Form students study for the world-leading International Baccalaureate Diploma. St Leonards prepares ‘AD VITAM’ - for life: a life of opportunity and success.

But please don't take my word for it. Come and visit. I look forward very much to meeting you.

Dr Michael Carslaw
Headmaster
