Riverston School is a small, co-educational, independent day school in south-east London for 400 children between the ages of 1 to 16 years.

Riverston was founded in the early 1900's and in 1927 moved to its present site in Eltham Road, Lee Green. It is centrally located on the A20, close to the A2 and South Circular Roads, served by numerous bus routes and is convenient for mainline stations. The school stands in nearly three acres of carefully maintained grounds and is built around four imposing Victorian houses. It has modern purpose-built units, incorporating specialist teaching rooms, library, science laboratories, general purpose hall, new ICT suite and dance studio. The school has a fully equipped Sports Hall, two large playground areas, the use of extensive playing fields and tennis courts. The Nursery Department has its own, separate, fully-equipped outdoor play area.

Riverston School acquired its own Normandy Chateau in 1991 with the aim of offering pupils from Year 4 the unique opportunity of benefiting from professionally structured immersion courses, helping them to appreciate the language, culture and history of France. Chateau de la Baudonniere is now well-established as a high profile European Education Centre for many other schools as well.

Riverston has a lively, friendly and cheerful ethos with ideals which are as strong today as they were when first conceived. A traditional School with the mission statement of 'A Journey to Excellence' - Riverston endeavours to provide each pupil with a positive self-image and ensures that all have the chance of maximising their academic potential, whilst encouraging their sporting ability. There is a considerable emphasis on pastoral care for personal happiness.

We would warmly welcome the opportunity of showing prospective parents the School by prior arrangement with the Admissions Secretary.
